Welcome to Oahu, Hawaii

New Otani Hotels are run and managed by the Tokyo-based New Otani Company, which has properties in more than a dozen cities, including Honolulu, Tokyo, Osaka, Singapore and Beijing.

The New Otani is known for its ideal locations close to the heart of business districts, comfortable rooms, fine restaurants and bars, modern conference facilities, and impeccable service. The controlling owner of New Otani Company is Kajima Corporation.

The first New Otani Hotel had its beginnings in 1964 in Tokyo, just prior to the Tokyo Olympics. It had the distinction of being the tallest building and largest hotel in Japan at that time. In September of 1974, an extension was built next to the first New Otani, and this new 40-story building along with the first was renamed New Otani Hotel and Tower, making it once again the largest hotel in Japan with a capacity of 1,600 rooms. New Otani was now a major player in the global hotel business. It then started the expansion of its network of hotels and affiliates, which now number 19 in Japan and four overseas.

The New Otani Hotel in Oahu is located in the shade of Diamond Head, one of the world’s most famous landmarks. This jewel of a hotel is named The New Otani Kaimana Beach Hotel, “kaimana” meaning diamond in Hawaiian. The hotel is known world-wide for its unique blend of the heritage of Polynesia, Asia and the West.
