The first Hyatt hotel opened its doors on September 27, 1957 at Los Angeles International Airport . During the next decade there was fast expansion along the west coast with the opening of several new Hyatt Hotels. However, what made Hyatt known all over the world was the opening of the world's first atrium hotel in 1967, which changed the course of the lodging industry. In 1969 a new company, Hyatt International, was formed, and the first international hotel was opened in Hong Kong . Ever since expansion has been fast both nationally and internationally, and there are now over 212 Hyatt Hotels and Resorts around the world.
There are three brands of Hyatt Hotels – Regency, Grand, and Park. Hyatt Regency is the core brand with exceptional technology, meeting, and fitness facilities. Guests are offered opportunities to broaden their horizons with rooms designed to reflect the best of local cultures. Grand Hyatt and Park Hyatt were both introduced in 1980. Grand Hyatt Hotels serve culturally rich destinations that attract both leisure and business travelers. They specialize in catering to the discriminating traveler, and include world-class banquet and conference facilities. Park Hyatts are the company's smaller luxury hotels catering to individual travelers seeking privacy and personalized service. These European-style hotels offer intimate surroundings and exceptional food and beverage facilities.
Today, the luxurious Hyatt Hotels and Resorts have a reputation for the exceptional amenities and services provided, as well as for the physical distinctiveness incorporating local art and design.
